Mechanical Simulation in MATLAB®

About Us

For many years Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF uses its own simulation methodology for the analysis of structures and design of passive, semi-active and active measures for vibration and noise reduction. Within the project AdRIA, a center of the Hessen research promotion program "LOEWE", toolboxes for MATLAB/Simulink® have been developed to minimize the risk of errors in modeling and to perform efficient and simple simulations.

The idea of active systems was considered by LBF since 2001 and since it has been developed further. Here various aspects of active systems (e.g. design, construction, integration, characterization, testing, reliability) are researched and the gained knowledge and experience is transferred again and again in new areas of applications. In recent years, the topic of active systems has gained further importance. With currently more than 60 employees at LBF, it is one of the largest research teams in the active systems field in Europe.
